Improve your Style today!

                                                       LEARN FROM THE BEST

The fashion world is often passed-off as 'trivial', particularly during this time of year when fashion week is about to begin and takes-over our Instagram feeds; we will be bombarded with images from extravagant runway shows and street style laden with (very pretty) statement for mostly our local designers.
Sometimes, it even makes me stop and question whether I should be devoting my time to something more 'meaningful', but you know what I've come to realise? Fashion is very meaningful. It brings a lot of meaning to my life, and always has - and I'm sure I'm not alone here.

I'm not talking about tangible items, because these things come and go. I'm talking about style as a whole; practising appreciation for beautiful things, celebrating creativity and acknowledging the art of creating desire. These are all things that should be celebrated.
So for this post I'm sharing a few things I've noticed all of my favourite fashion women have in common (and they don't cost a thing).

PRACTICE APPRECIATION

... for beautiful things. Every day. Everywhere. It's not about having more, but consciously surrounding yourself with things you love that lift you up and make you feel good. Special purchases shouldn't leave you feeling guilty, materialistic or over-indulgent. There is nothing wrong with giving yourself the gift of beauty when you've earned it.

LEARN TO BALANCE

... high and low, old and new. My favourite style is always a combination of the two, so cherish the things you love and don't let them go in and out with 'trends'.

HAVE CONFIDENCE

... in yourself, in your style choices, in the way you look in what you're wearing. You can wear the most boring outfit, but if you exude confidence, you'll always be appealing.

COMFORT IS KEY

Always. Life's too short to feel awkward.

INTROSPECTION IS IMPORTANT

Who are you? Who do you want to be? What do you want to share with the world about yourself? Think about these questions - the answers should always inform your style choices.

REPEAT OFFENDER

Wear the same thing twice. Wear it 10 times if you feel good in it. When you find something that works - stick to it (for me, that involves a pretty 3/4 summer dress, heels, and accessories that goes with it).

I love when people develop a signature and run with it. Let go of the pressure to always have something 'new', and revisit the things you once loved that are very 'you'.

Quality is better than quantity

Choosing quality over quantity is part of a more sustainable lifestyle. It has benefits for your wardrobe and your wallet. Here are the reasons why you should consider buying less, but better pieces, instead of going for cheaper options.

                                                         Finding Your Style

It can take years to finally admit that you have found your personal style. In the meantime, try experimenting with different types of clothes, fabrics, or shapes. You will find that some pieces and colors look great on you, and you should stick to them. Over the years, these items will be the foundation of your personal style. Then, it will be easier to choose quality items that will last you longer, and that will look amazing on you.

                                                          Cost Per Wear

Buying a few quality pieces will help you reduce the amount you spend on superfluous clothes in the long term. The more you buy, the less you wear your clothes to their full potential. If you buy quality pieces, they will last you longer, and you will spend your money wisely.

Environmental Impact

Quality over quantity also means sustainable practices. Buying clothes from local designers is a great example of that. You will have quality pieces, and help your local economy, as well as limiting your environmental impact.

Capsule Wardrobe

Why not building a capsule wardrobe? You can create a mini selection of well-made pieces that are adapted to your needs and style. It is the best way to think about the pieces that you will actually wear, and restrict to quality.

Decide on a style "SIGNATURE"

I guess mine would be elegant glamorous, even when I am in jeans or in a very very chilled outfit there will always be a touch of glam!!!

I start with basic,decide whether I will wear a dress, skirt or pant...I play around with colours(I will speak more about colours in my next article). Then elevate the outfit with accessories; first and most important: shoes and bag...These two have the power to make any outfit look other very classy or casual...as you can see I usually go for classy! If I had put on flat shoes; it would have been a casual look.

Outfits changes according to circumstances, but style stays the same.

Think about it...which one is your style?

 It is your brand, your signature, your identity, people will describe you according to your style.
Are you funky, conservative, extravagant... which one is yours?

Style is about appreciation for beautiful things, celebrating creativity and acknowledging the art of creating desire and branding yourself.

Style and message

Skirt: rather short. Leopard print blouse: one button too many left undone. Silhouette: accentuated. Heels: at least 4 inches high.

Can you imagine a woman like this on the board of directors of a conservative company? If so, then good for you! However, if her look also involved a wild mane of hair, crimson lipstick, and a husky voice, it is unlikely that even the most open-minded among us would take her as seriously as we would someone who was more conventionally styled. It is not easy to avoid thinking in stereotypes. Firmly ingrained clichés and thought patterns make it easy to pigeonhole people-which sometimes affects our behavior toward them. For example, we automatically assume that well-dressed, well-groomed people will also have good manners-and, as experience shows, we accordingly behave more graciously toward them.

There is virtually no clothes style that does not convey a message. A woman who dresses quietly in neutral colors and nondescript styles is inevitable going to project a mousey image, with the automatic impression likely to be: ""dull, Conservative, boring." Anyone who consistently wears ill-fitting clothes may be considered careless in other areas, too-and, in the worst case scenario, downright sloppy. A woman who is constantly having to dig around in her large, over-stuffed purse conveys the message: disorganised and chaotic. Shoes that adversely affect the way a person walks can signal insecurity and a lack of self-confidence.

Clothes can work both for us and against us-and, with a little coming, can be used to our advantage. So, now is the time to turn the tables! This means deliberately choosing a look in order to create a specific impression-to signal how you want to be perceived. If fashion is to be used effectively in this way, however, one needs to be sure that messages thus conveyed can also be interpreted properly.

"We communicate through our clothes. A figure-hugging, revealing look is not likely to project a classic, serious image-but perhaps that was not the aim in the first place..."

What I'm about...

I believe that every single woman is extremely beautiful, I’m not referring to internal beauty but I’m talking about external beauty. This beauty has to be discovered and exploited.

Many of us, suffer of lack of self-confidence or just get frustrated over their nose being too big, or feeling too skinny or too fat, or shoulder too large etc... while there are other parts of their body that are just perfect and that complete and cover up for the imperfections; but how do you discover them so that you can enhance them in a way that they cover (hide) your flaws?

That is what I do, I’m dedicated to enhance your beauty and help you master it. I get frustrated to see a beautiful woman, who has not spotted and unleashed her beauty. I created this blog, not only to share my life style or my personal style but mainly to help you as much as I can to find your beauty.
I am a stylist and image advisor; I style women at all stages of life, no matter their race or culture:

  • I help them discover the style that suits them best and that portrays their personality. I like this quote from Diane Von Furstenberg “Style is something each of us already has, all we need to do is find it”;
  • I help them be appealing for the society they are in; are you a business woman or a political woman, a woman on management level where you have to manage people of all kinds or simply a professional woman or even simplest a wife?

Do you know that, the way you dress is a language…”What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today when human contacts are quick. Fashion and style are an instant language” Miuccia Prada
  • I help them with their shopping, making sure you shop the right clothes for your body, the right color while keeping up with the trend;
  • I participate in women activities like (bachelorette, birth days etc) training ladies on beauty and appearance…”The difference between style and fashion is quality” Giorgio Armani;
  • I help women with low-self-esteem to find their confidence by enhancing their appearance and earn regards;
  • I help women who feel ignored in their work place or environment, or feel not listened to portray an appearance that makes them be noticed and imposes regards;
  • And for women who despite the amount of time they shop and often feel like they have nothing to wear , I help them organize their wardrobe… did you know that there are key clothes and accessories that you have to have in your wardrobe?

You will find here, different styles of my own that might inspire you, few articles on styling specific body shapes, or personalities, or how to dress up on different circumstances; you will find news of the current trends, the best places to go shopping etc, but also some fine things, which contribute to your life style, like food; I love cooking, travel ideas; I love travelling and discovering nice places etc; everything that contribute to an outstanding life style.

Stay connected on the blog and follow me on instagram, subscribe to get news from me; I’m certain that you will enjoy the journey with us.
Love,
Marlz
